PrillyCharmin's custom SEWING PATTERN for Baby Face Boys: specially designed for the chubby 13-inch Baby Face dolls by Galoob. This pattern is for reproduction Denny & Charlie outfits. The repro design is by PrillyCharmin and is very similar to, but not exactly like, the Denny and Charlie outfits that Galoob made.
Baby Face Charlie was never mass produced or sold in stores. Recently we learned that Denny was sold in France, as Sasha.
The SEWING PATTERN includes pants, shirt and baseball hat for Denny, as well as shorts, shirt and sailor hat for Charlie. The Denny pants have elastic at waist and hem. The Denny shirt has a short sleeve with a ribbon stripe down the middle of the sleeve, and rib knit edging at the neckline. Velcro closure at the back.
The baseball hat is a five panel baseball style cap with visor and it is fully lined. The sailor hat is a four panel cap with brim. The baseball style hat works for Baby Face Laura doll as well; I made a cap for her using pink lace.
This pattern can also be used for pants, shorts and shirts for any of the Baby Face dolls. I use the pants pattern all the time but I don't put elastic in the hem of course (Denny's pants have elastic at the ankles.)
- Materials needed for Denny: blue and white stripe fabric, blue ribknit fabric for neckline, white knit fabric for pants, heavy royal blue broadcloth for the cap, a short piece of royal blue grosgrain ribbon for the stripes on the sleeves, velcro and 1/4 inch elastic.
- Materials needed for Charlie: red and white stripe fabric, blue fabric with small stars for one sleeve, navy knit fabric for shorts, white canvas for hat, velcro and 1/4 inch elastic. I made the logos on the front of the shirts with iron on transfer and iron-on laminate.
Yes, all PrillyCharmin patterns are REAL sewing patterns, copied on large size paper, that you cut out and use with fabric.
Minimal instructions are included. This is not a simplicity pattern and novice seamstresses might not be comfortable with using it but most ladies who sew will find it easy to work with. We cannot provide online support, but we do have additional photos, descriptions of the Boy outfits - and how to make them, at our website.
