Kristi Ann Hunter writes with intelligence and humor: we have enjoyed everything she's written. Regency Romances are all the rage at this time, and I've been glad to see it. I never was a fan of all the Amish stories.

Hawthorne House Series

A Noble Masquerade

Lady Miranda Hawthorne acts every inch the lady, but inside she longs to be bold and carefree. This book is my favorite in the Hawthorne House series, because it's funny, has great adventure, and the beautiful, pampered heroine is no shrinking violet.

An Elegant Facade

Lady Georgina Hawthorne has always known she must marry well. After years of tirelessly planning every detail of her debut season, she is poised to be a smashing success and have her choice of eligible gentlemen. But beneath her flawless exterior, Georgina's social aspirations stem from a shameful secret she is desperately trying to keep hidden

An Uncommon Courtship

Life for Lady Adelaide Bell was easier if she hid in her older sister's shadow--which worked until her sister got married. Even with the pressure of her socially ambitious mother, the last thing she expected was a marriage of convenience to save her previously spotless reputation.

An Inconvenient Beauty

Griffith, Duke of Riverton, likes order, logic, and control, and he naturally applies this rational approach to his search for a bride. -- This was my least favorite story of the Hawthorne House series, but once you start a good series you must read them all. And Griffith is such a nice man, he needs his own happy ending.

A Lady of Esteem

This short Novella tells the story of Miranda's dear friend Amelia, and is a very sweet addition to the Hawthorne House series.

Haven Manor Series

Haven Manor is a whole new story line with mostly new characters, but it does include appearances from some of the Lords and Ladies of the Hawthorne House series.

A Defense of Honor

When Katherine "Kit" FitzGilbert turned her back on London society more than a decade ago, she determined never to set foot in a ballroom again. But when business takes her to London and she's forced to run for her life, she stumbles upon not only a glamorous ballroom but also Graham, Lord Wharton. What should have been a chance encounter becomes much more as Graham embarks on a search for his friend's missing sister and is convinced Kit knows more about the girl than she's telling.

A Return of Devotion

Daphne Blakemoor was perfectly happy living in her own secluded world for twelve years. She had everything she needed--loved ones, a true home, and time to indulge her imagination. But when ownership of the estate where she works as a housekeeper passes on, and the new marquis has an undeniable connection to her past, everything she's come to rely upon is threatened.

A Pursuit of Home

In early 1800s England, Jess Beauchene has spent most of her life in hiding and always on the move in an effort to leave her past far behind her. But when she learns the family she thought had died just might be alive and in danger, she knows her secrets can only stay buried for so long. -- FINALLY, Jess's story is told and it's quite a story! In my opinion, this is Kristi Ann Hunter's masterpiece as she creates the difficult personalities of Jess and Derek, skillfully weaving together their unusual romance, with plenty of mystery, suspense and international intrigue.

A Search for Refuge

This short Novella is a lovely addition to the Haven House series, and explains how their lawyer came to be part of the orphanage operation.
